Workbence Agency, a Calgary software agencyAgency

Software built by peoplewho break softwarefor a living

Workbence Agency is a Calgary software agency. Our senior engineers build the software, and every build is security-tested in-house before release. No account managers, no junior bench. We work with teams across Canada, the US, and Europe

Retail & repair · Calgary, AB

  • Custom Software
  • Web App
  • UI/UX Design

The problem

Repairs were tracked on paper tickets. Staff could not easily see what was in progress or waiting on parts, and customers phoned the shop to ask when their bike would be ready.

What we did

  • 01Built a repair management system to replace the paper tickets.
  • 02Check-in for bikes and skis, work orders with status tracking, and automatic customer updates.
  • 03One shared view for the shop floor and the front counter.

The result

Our client saves time and tracks everything in one place.

03The Agency

Why we’vestayed small

Most agencies grow by adding people. We’ve stayed at three on purpose. A few experienced engineers get more done than a large average team, and more of your budget ends up as working software instead of coordination.

There’s no account manager between you and the people building your product. The engineer you meet on the first call writes the code, and our certified security lead tests it before it ships.

The agency is our main business. We also build our own products under the Workbence group, which keeps us current on the tools we recommend.

We're based in Calgary and work with teams across Canada, the United States, and Europe, in person in Alberta and remotely everywhere else.

04Approach

How we work

01

Discover

We start with a call about what you need, who will use it, and your budget and dates. Then we send a preliminary plan for the first phase. Once the NDA is signed, we check your systems and infrastructure and give you a fixed-price quote.

  • Preliminary plan
  • NDA
  • Infrastructure check
  • Fixed price
02

Start

You check the quote and approve it. Then we start working on the project.

  • Quote review
  • Approval
  • Kickoff
03

Build

We demo working software every week and keep a shared list of what is done and what is next.

  • Weekly demos
  • Shared task list
04

Launch & Scale

We release it and keep an eye on it. After launch we are available for support and the next round of changes.
